Contemporary re-edition of the Office / Dining Chair, originally designed by Pierre Jeanneret for the administrative buildings of Chandigarh, India, during the mid-1950s. This model is one of the most recognisable seating designs from the Chandigarh project, conceived for daily institutional use while maintaining a strong architectural identity.

The chair is crafted from solid teak wood, sourced from natural forests in northern India, combined with a hand-woven natural cane seat and backrest. The structure is defined by its bold geometry: angular legs, strong armrests, and a wide, grounded stance that conveys both stability and visual rhythm.

The proportions are generous and functional. The inclined backrest and arm height provide comfort for extended use, while the cane introduces lightness and breathability. The visible joinery and solid construction reflect the honest, utilitarian philosophy behind Jeanneret’s work.

This piece is a high-quality contemporary re-edition, faithfully reproducing the original design while being suitable for modern interiors and everyday use. It offers the character of the Chandigarh aesthetic without the fragility or cost of an original vintage example.

Ideal for dining rooms, offices, or curated interiors seeking timeless modernism, strong lines, and material authenticity.
